Program of Study
- Two-year associate degree
- 62 credits including general education courses
- Transferrable to all Virginia public and many private colleges and universities as well as out of state colleges

Admission Requirements
- Rising high school junior
- Minimum high school GPA 3.5, including 9th and 10th grade coursework and any eligible 8th grade credits
- Complete CVCC English and math placement exams
- Complete Algebra II prior to the start of the program
The Early College Application packet must include:
- A written admissions essay composed of 450-to-600-words to copy and paste into the application. Please select one of the following topics.
- A Hero is defined as a person admired for achievements and noble qualities; perhaps even one who shows great courage. Who is your hero? What do you admire about this person? How do they inspire you? Explain how they affect your decisions and your actions and your view of right and wrong.
- When people first meet you, what do you hope they notice and remember about you? How do you try to show those qualities in your daily life, and why are they important to who you are? How will this impact your career choices in your future?
- A character reference letter from a non-family member
- A professional reference letter (from a current/former teacher, employer, pastor, etc. - non-family)
- A school division approval letter or religious exemption letter
- Under 16 waiver, if applicable
- Complete early college application
- Complete both English and math assessments
- Submit (via email) request for under-16 approval to Associate Vice President of Arts & Sciences (AVP)
- If approved by AVP, request will be forwarded to Vice President of Academic Affairs (VP) for final approval
- Parental permission
At the end of the early college application, if you have not already applied to CVCC, you should complete the CVCC application linked at the end of the Early College Application.
Students applying to the Early College must complete both the and the CVCC application.
