Which Wi-Fi Network do I Use?
The college provides both in-building and exterior Wi-Fi access throughout its main campus and off-site centers in Amherst, Appomattox, and Bedford. Below lists the different connection options we have available, please review these to see which one best meets your needs.

The Virginia Community College System (VCCS), of which CVCC is member college, implemented Eduroam, a worldwide Wi-Fi Roaming service, for all of Virginia鈥檚 Community Colleges. Eduroam is available at all colleges and universities in Virginia and there are thousands of participating Eduroam hotspots throughout the United States and world-wide.
There are two ways to connect to Eduroam.

- When using the app, search for Virginia Community College System (not 91影视) in the organization list. Then simply follow the prompts.
- or by selecting the Eduroam SSID from your device.
Windows
- In the lower-right corner of your screen, click the network icon on the taskbar. In some cases, you will need to click the up arrow before you will see the network icon.
- For Windows 11, the quick settings window will appear. Click the arrow to the right of the network icon, which is in the upper left corner of the quick settings window.
- Click eduroam.
- Click Connect.
- In the Username text box, type your sudent email address (xxxx@email.vccs.edu).
- In the Password text box, type your password.
- Click OK.
- If asked to accept a certificate, follow the prompts to accept or install the certificate.
Mac OS
- From the Apple drop-down, click System Settings
- In the left menu column, click Wi-Fi.
- In the right pane, under Other Networks, click eduroam.
- In the Username: text box, type your student email address (xxxx@email.vccs.edu).
- In the Password: text box, type your password.
- Click Join.
- If asked to accept a certificate, follow the prompts to accept or install the certificate.
Alternatively, the can be used for MacOS. .
Android
- Open the App Drawer by swiping up from the bottom of the screen or tapping on the grid icon usually located at the bottom center of the home screen.
- Tap the Settings app.
- From the menu, tap on 鈥淐onnections鈥 or 鈥淣etwork & Internet鈥 (varies by device).
- Tap on 鈥淲i-Fi鈥 or 鈥淚nternet鈥 (varies by device).
- Tap eduroam.
- Enter the following settings if they are not already selected:
- From the EAP method drop-down, tap PEAP.
- From the Phase 2 authentication drop-down, tap MSCHAPv2.
- From the CA certificate drop-down, tap Use system certificates.
- In the Domain text box, type: vccs.edu
- In the Identity text box, enter your student email address (xxxx@email.vccs.edu).
- Clear the Anonymous identity text box so that it is empty.
- In the Password text box, type your password.
- Tap Connect.
iOS (iPhone / iPad)
1. On the home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap Wi-Fi.
3. Tap eduroam.
4. In the Username text box, type your student email address (xxxx@email.vccs.edu).
5. In the Password text box, type your password.
6. Tap Join.
7. If asked to accept a certificate, follow the prompts to accept / install the certificate.
Faculty and Staff are encouraged to connect to the "CVCC Faculty and Staff" Wi-Fi to get the best performance. When prompted to log into the "CVCC Faculty and Staff" Wi-Fi network, type the first part of your Office 365/Network login (e.g. doej) and then your Office 365 password.
Use of the 鈥淐VCC GUEST鈥 Wi-Fi network does not require authentication, hence its performance is restricted. Connection to the "CVCC GUEST" Wi-FI network is available once the user agrees to the Open Wireless Disclaimer (see below) that will be presented upon connection.
The Wireless Internet Access provided by CVCC is for use by the students, staff, faculty and guests of the college free of charge. It is the responsibility of each user to protect his or her computer against any potential abuse such as viruses, malware and breach of privacy.

91影视 (CVCC) provides free wireless Internet hotspots in various locations across the main campus and our off-site centers in Amherst, Appomattox and Bedford.
Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) lets you access the Internet without cables or wires. With a wireless networking card in your privately owned laptop, PDA, or any Wi-Fi enabled device, you can go online from various locations inside CVCC and our off-site centers.
As the configuration of each manufacturer's device is unique, please refer to your documentation for connection instructions. CVCC staff cannot be responsible for assisting you in making changes to your devices.
